Tailored
solutions

Atlas's customers are central to its strategic plan.

All products are built based on the real needs of agricultural businesses and are developed after exhaustive consultation with farmers, producer organizations, the scientific community, strategic partners and other entities in the agricultural sector.

Taking the standard Harvest Insurance – an essential coverage for all farmers – as a starting point, Atlas develops differentiated products adapted to each region, culture and producer to mitigate the risks associated with agricultural activity.

Crop
Insurance

Harvest Insurance protects producers against the occurrence of adverse climatic phenomena that may affect their harvests, by guaranteeing the payment of compensation in case of losses or damages that may affect crop production.

This Insurance is intended for farmers, either individually or through collective entities (in this case with a minimum group of five farmers) who have an interest in protecting their crops.

Harvest Insurance benefits from a Government subsidy to help with the payment of the insurance premium. This is between 57% (individual contracts without insurance in the previous year) and 60% (collective contracts, individual contracts with insurance in the prior year and young farmers purchasing insurance for the first time)

Viticultural Crop Insurance

Viticultural Crop Insurance protects wine grape growers in the event of adverse climatic phenomena (equal to natural catastrophes, or not) that may affect their crops, by guaranteeing the payment of compensation in the event of loss or damage that may affect crop yields.

This Insurance is intended for winegrowers, either individually or through collective entities (in this case, with a minimum group of five winegrowers), who own the goods to be insured or who are interested in insuring them.

When contracting Crop Insurance, wine grape producers contract specific and comprehensive protection against unforeseen climatic risks that may affect the success of their production, allowing the stabilization of their income and ensuring the viability and continuity of the agricultural exploitation.

The contracting of this Insurance presupposes a bonus resulting from community support to help pay the insurance premium, which can vary between 80% (in the event that the policy contracts exclusively to cover adverse climatic risks equivalent to natural disasters and it is a contract group insurance), 75% (in the event that the policy contracts exclusively the coverage of adverse weather risks equivalent to natural catastrophes and it is an individual insurance contract) and 50% (if the policy provides for coverage of risks associated with adverse climatic phenomena not equated with natural disasters).

The viticultural crop insurance aims to help protect the income of wine grape growers when they are affected by adverse weather events. This support mechanism is fully financed by the European Union budget.

Parametric
Insurance

Parametric insurance is a bespoke coverage designed through the use of an independent parameter, usually a meteorological index, which correlates with the customer's revenue flow or cost structure.

Parametric insurance meets the specific needs of the client's business, based on climatic indices (rain / temperature / NDVI), and can cover both productivity and quality of the crop, without the need for material damage to the crop.

In structuring the insurance, one or more indices can be used. To measure losses, data from INPE and / or official weather stations, etc., are used.
