Why we collect your personal information and the legal basis for processing
We collect and use your personal data in order to provide you with insurance cover. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract with you as the data subject and, in addition, compliance with legal obligations, including insurance and tax law requirements.
For the processing of sensitive health-related personal data, the general legal basis is consent, unless there is a local legal right permitting such processing on another legal basis.

The way insurance operates means that your information may be shared with and used by a number of third parties within the insurance sector (inside and outside the European Economic Area – EEA). These may include, for example, insurers, insurance agents or brokers, reinsurers, loss adjusters, subcontractors, regulators, law enforcement authorities, fraud and crime prevention and detection agencies, and mandatory insurance databases. We will only disclose your personal data insofar as it relates to the insurance cover provided and only to the extent necessary or permitted by law.
